Triangle Neighbors, a branch of the Lake View Citizens’ Council, announced that the 13th annual Northalsted Halloween Costume Parade will feature an Alice and Wonderland-like theme, the “Mad Hatters’ Ball.”
A few changes have been made for this year’s event. The parade is scheduled to kick off a little earlier, starting at 6 p.m. at the corner of Halsted and Belmont. The main stage will be at the corner of Halsted and Roscoe Streets, where there will be a show and awards presentation following the parade.
The event’s organizers are also extending the parade in order to accommodate a large Saturday crowd. Instead of stopping at Cornelia, the parade will continue North all the way to Addison Street.
Pre-parade festivities begin at 4 p.m. Two Lights Theater Company will transform Space Park, 815-817 W. Roscoe, into Wonderland and offer a variety of kids’ events. There, people can register children for the parade. Pets events will take place from 4-6 p.m. at the alley adjacent to Space Park. There, people can register for the pet parade. Adult parade participants can register for the parade at Spin, 800 W. Belmont, before 6 p.m.
The costume that best represents the “Mad Hatter’s Ball” theme will win a special price.
Miss Foozie will emcee the parade dressed as the Queen of Hearts.
