Pucker up Baby, it's time for a Kiss-in

Recently the news has been filled with a lot of LGBT harrassment. There was a gay couple arrested in Salt Lake City for kissing on a public way that's owned by the Mormon Church. In El Paso, Texas a gay couple was ejected from an eatery because they were kissing. Is kissing that bad? Apparently it is, I wish someone would have told me!

Shouldn't everyone be allowed to kiss? Kissing isn't a bad thing, it's not obscene, vulgar or inappropriate - is it? In fact, it's a beautiful thing, I love kissing and I'm sure you love kissing too! And sometimes I like to kiss my sweetie when we're out, so shouldn't we be able to kiss anywhere? Now its your chance to grab your partner, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your husband, your wife and show the world that it's ok to Kiss in a Nationwide Kiss-in this Saturday.

On Saturday, August 15, you should meet at Cloud Gate (aka The Bean) at 1PM to show the world that Kissing is not a bad thing!

You'll be in good company because there will be simultaneous Kiss-in's in more than 35 cities across the country even Canada is joining in. All of the big cities are holding events, but interestingly there are events scheduled in places like Hot Springs, AR, Athens, GA, Little Rock, AR, Parkersburg, WV and Madison, WI.

This is another "grass roots" campaign brought about by two bloggers, David Badash, from New York, and David Maillous, from Boston and Join The Imapct, a group that formed when Prop 8 was raised on the ballot in California last year. When was the last time you did protested something, or made a stand about something? Can you think of a cause better than this? And you can do it with the one you love.

My friends over at the Feast of Fun have compiled a list of tips on how to best participate in the Kiss-In

You've got to stand up for yourself, because no one else is going to do it for you. If you think that you should be able to kiss whomever you want, where ever you want - then I'll see you in front of Cloud Gate on Saturday!

What: Great Nationwide Kiss-In
When: Saturday, August 15, 1PM
Where: Cloud Gate at Millennium Park (Randolph & Michigan)
